Effect of Carrying Out One-Time Fertilization on Apple Calcium Levels when using Folanx® Ca29 at an Advanced Stage
In 2007 a trial was carried out at an orchard company in Friedrichshafen/Lake Constance to see whether one-time fertilization with Folanx® Ca29 at an advanced stage can still affect apple calcium levels.
Test Procedure
The Braeburn variety was used in the trial. After being treated in the customary manner for most of the growing season the trial group was fertilized just once and at a very late stage - on 03.10.2007 - using Folanx® Ca29 in a concentration of 2.5 kg per ha and per meter canopy height.
At this point in time the control group remained untreated.

Results and Conclusions
The apples were harvested during the BBCH 87 phase (09.10.2007) and their calcium levels analyzed at the IAU (Institute for Agricultural and Environmental Analysis) in Freyburg/Unstrut. The results are illustrated in the following diagram:

As can be seen from the diagram, apple calcium levels can no longer be influenced by one-time Folanx® Ca29 fertilization carried out at an advanced stage.
